Boost your agents: Knowledge builds confidence in you and for you.
We now have digitally native agents entering our industry and seasoned agents with no knowledge of the new systems. Both are lacking in confidence and that affects your bottom line.
Young agents: Strong with technology, weak on market knowledge, product knowledge and negotiation skills.
Fake it till you make it is not good advice. It is literally wasting your time, money and resources and most importantly millennials will resent you for it and leave as soon as a better opportunity arises. Help them get their bearings ASAP. With so many technology advances you’d think the young agents that are familiar with basic operations would be thrilled, there is little to no learning curve and so much information right at their fingertips. But they’re not confident because they don’t have the market knowledge and they are intimidated by customers and more seasoned agents.
At a minimum they should know:
Seasoned agents: Strong with customers, weak with technology, new contracts and standards.
They know the ropes but have become uncomfortable asking for help, that cumulative knowledge they should have been building was missed while they were busy closing deals, now they are lost on the computer and missing out on business. They’re not comfortable asking for help and they are frustrated learning on their own.
Pro Tip: your soon-to-retire agents have lots of info, skills, and a big book of business they could potentially pass on to a young agent.
